What (or who) was your biggest inspiration in creating this book? Now I know it’s better to space it out a bit. In Philadelphia, I had five shoots in one day and it was exhausting for an introvert like me. I would allow myself more time for photo shoots in each city by extending my stay by a day or two. What (if anything) would you have done differently now that the book is in print? I’m used to instant gratification with online posts and it was almost a year after I took all the photos that the book was published. The most surprising thing was how much time it takes to publish a book. What surprised you most in the development of your book?Īs a first-time author, I didn’t know what to expect. We had the delightful opportunity to chat with BriAnne and ask her a few questions behind the making of this wonderful compendium of the cutest cat ladies and their feline companions. Interspersed throughout are amusing lists any cat lady will find relatable, from “How to Catproof Your Home” to “The Chorus of Cat Sounds,” as well as an adoption resource guide and a list of rescue organizations in the United States and Canada. Girls and Their Cats features 50 strong, independent, and artistic women who take the world in stride with their beloved felines.
